About

This was made for the Ludum Dare 46 Game Jam. This is an online Game Jam that people around the world enter. This was created in a team of two people and was created over 72 hours. The theme was ‘Keep it alive’ and we decided to create something where the aim of the game is to try and keep a Data Centre alive by trying to desperately keep up with the server demands of the increasing number of users accessing your data centre. All why trying to handle breaking server components. We decided to create it as a 3D game using Unity. This was my first-time using Unity to make a 3D game. I spent most of the time learning and using Blender to create the 3D models and other art assets, but I also worked on the code for the scoring system. This was my first time really using Blender, so I had to learn while I was working. As it was a Unity game it was exported for Windows, Linux and WebGL. The games all get reviewed by people on the internet over a 30-day period. After the 30-day period was up all the comments were positive. The game came 1720th place overall out of 3576 games, however in the individual categories we came 956th place for the theme. Considering that I hadn’t used Unity in 2 years, I had to learn Blender as I worked, this was my first 3D game made with Unity and there was only two of us, I was fairly happy with the results.
